Kansas Company Buys Milwaukee Rail Company

A Kansas-based company is buying ownership in Milwaukee-based Wisconsin & Southern Railroad Co.

The financial terms involving Watco Transportation Services LLC were not disclosed.

Watco, based in Pittsburg, Kan., is the country’s largest privately held short line railroad company. It employs 2,200 people.
